The summer has come to a close but the City is working on several projects that are of importance to the community. There is construction going on near the post office for phase one of the sewer rehabilitation project on Cherry Street. The enhancements are nearly completed. While parking has been an ongoing issue for residents in the area, use caution around the construction site and expect more space for parking by next week. This will be just in time for the annual Red Flannel Festival taking place October 2nd and 3rd. Phase two of the construction project will be reconstruction going from Ash Street to the Beech Street intersection. The improvement plan also includes installing a new sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main, as well as, the reconnection of sewer and water services. The final phase of the project will encompass installing sanitary sewer lining and spot repairs around the city.
For residents living near the White Lake Township, save the date as City officials are holding a special board meeting to review the sewer fund and special assessment subsidizing that has been a concern for Pontiac Lake homeowners. This meeting will be held on September 29th at White Lake Oaks, 991 N. Williams Lake Road, White Lake. This is the only item on the agenda.
